In April 2023, Chris (Shihan-Dai) went to Japan for keiko with Otsuka-Soke, the grandmaster of Meifu Shinkage Ryu. Attending private training with Otsuka-sensei and Ito-Shihan-Dai is always great, as you never know what is going to come.
Then in July 2023, Chris attended a 2-day private training with Otsuka-sensei at Sasagawa-dojo. This has traditionally been the dojo (more than 25 years) to hold seminars. The weather was sweltering. However, Otsuka-sensei and Chris continued to enjoy all aspects of Meifu Shinkage Ryu.
